[info]our_magicplace 21.3. You are not fooling anyone.
ooc: Takes place early in the summer and based on the the Poptopia arc in X-Men.

She was not going to fling the stereo out of the house.

No matter how much pleasure it would give her to see the little black box drop from the sky and shatter into a million pieces, effectively cutting off the awful, screeching that was blaring from the speakers. Okay, so the music wasn't that bad. The guitar intro was decent, the drums were okay and the singer's voice wasn't anything worse than what Paige endured whenever she decided to accompany the family to church but that wasn't the point. Didn't any of them hear the lyrics? The sappy crap that was a lie and made no sense when the words were strung together?

Sugar-walled heart? Please. Paige would like nothing more than to rip that heart to shreds. Of course that wasn't going to happen and it wasn't even the young woman singing it that Paige had a problem with. No, it was the young man currently on every tabloid and magazine with her that was pissing Paige Guthrie off.

Never forget me, right.

[info]mad_muses: A game of Scrabble gone terribly wrong
ooc: [info]littlepaffs used without permission but she LOVES me so we're all good. [info]starsmore_jono also in the background but again with the love. :)

Takes place after this

Paige should have known it was all Jubilee's fault.

Foo.

There was just no way Angelo would have come up with that many insane words on his own. Of course her annoying roommate/best friend was the one who had given him the ideas. She was livid and had silently fumed since learning the truth. Somehow she would figure a way to get back at the girl. Paige Guthrie had never backed down from a challenge and she wasn't about to start now.

So when the next Sunday rolled around she stomped into the rec room with her newly prepared chart of Scrabble rules and tacked it onto the board. Smoothing the paper out, she smiled as she stepped back to admire her handiwork. They were simple rules. The last one written in large bold letters to add emphasis: JUBILATION LEE IS BANNED FROM SCRABBLE. It wasn't like her friend enjoyed the game anyways. Paige knew that was the reason she'd helped Angelo figure out a way to annoy her. She'd just wanted to play LIFE. Jubilee should have said something instead of going this roundabout way to her goal. The irony of her posting a sign banning her friend instead of talking to her was completely lost on Paige.

"You are looking for trouble, querida," Angelo murmured, reading over the list. "And what's wrong with slang?"

Paige placed the game onto the table and pulled out the rule book. "It's in the rules. No slang, no abbreviations, no...hey! Give that back."

Angelo tossed the book into the trashcan. "You need to think outside the box, Country Mouse."

Gift fic for Sammy!mun because I heart your Sam. Happy Halloween!

When you are five years old there are people in your life that you honestly believe walk on water. Paige Guthrie thought she was the luckiest girl in the world because she had four people like that; her parents, her kindergarten teacher Mrs. Davis who could sing the alphabet backwards, and her big brother Sammy.

She was pretty sure she was even luckier because she was going to get to go trick-or-treating just with Sammy this year. Their father was still going to be at work and their mother, who was nearly nine months pregnant, didn't feel up for the walk into town while trying to handle to other small children. Paige had never been more excited to go trick-or-treating and had nearly gotten in trouble twice at school for excessive talking.

It was just so hard to try and stay quiet when she wanted to let her friends and the lunch lady and Mr. Kleeman, the janitor, and everyone know that she was getting to go trick-or-treating with her "most favoritest person ever". So Paige didn't understand why Sammy was being such a pain.

OOC: Most dialogue is taken from Generation X #5 and #6. I am NOT making up the craziness that is the speech. And it IS canon that Paige is a lightweight. One beer. Seriously.

Nearly one year ago...

Paige has never hated Cable and his ragtag band team of mutants more than at this precise moment. Sam promised to always be there, to always be reachable, and the one time she actually needed him, he and his whole damn team were AWOL. It was all Cable's fault, she just knew it, and wherever they all were Paige had a feeling he was putting Sam and Tabby and the rest of them in danger.

Typical.

Here she was at this brand new school, with these brand new people, and there was no way to contact her brother when the rug was pulled out from under her. Paige wouldn't be surprised if Cable had somehow planned his team's disappearance to coincide with the breaking news of the Legacy virus.

"Ain't bad enough that we got organizations tryin' ta kill us," Paige muttered, kicking a rec room chair in disgust. "Now we got a dang disease ta do us off."

Paige Guthrie was scared. She didn't like diseases. She'd seen what one had done to her father, how quickly it had cut down the strongest man she'd ever known. His death had devastated her family and changed all of their lives. She never wanted to experience someone dying that way again and she certainly didn't want to end up that way.

OOC: A little gift fic for [info]hayseed_sam who writes the perfect big brother for poor Paigey. :D

Paige Guthrie loved her siblings. Deep down she knew that without them she'd be lost, but some days were harder than others to remember that fact.

Today was one of those days.

"If'n ya don't tell me where ya put him I'm tellin', Samuel Zachery Guthrie," she announced loudly, hands on her hips for added measure. The use of her older brother's full name was supposed to show that she meant business. From the twinkle in his eyes and the small smirk on his face she knew it wasn't working.

He had taken her dog, her favorite stuffy, and hidden it somewhere. Well, techincally she didn't know that it was him or hand't known until now but the truth was written all over his face. "I don't know whatcha talkin' about, Paigey," Sam replied, not budging from his spot perched on the tree above her.
